Pokemon Poke Balls
You can travel the lands of Pokemon far and wide – and see hundreds of Pokemon – but you cannot capture them if you don’t have the right tool. The Poke Ball is the Trainer’s capture system of choice, and the many varieties of Poke Balls ensure that you can match the Poke Ball to the situation, increasing your odds of a capture. These are some of the best Poke Balls available…

Premier Ball
The same as the basic Poke Ball.
Master Ball
The ultimate Poke Ball. It enables you to capture any Pokemon. The elusive Master Ball has been seen by Ash only once. These are often used to capture Legendary or one-of-a-kind Pokemon. Unique in every sense of the word, these balls have a letter M emblazoned upon the upper hemisphere of the ball.
The Mechanics
When a wild Pokemon is weakened in battle, the opposing Trainer can throw a Poke Ball at the Pokemon target in an attempt to catch it. If successful, the Pokemon is trapped inside, and the Trainer becomes its owner. Poke Balls not only capture Pokemon, but they also update a Trainer’s Pokedex with a captured Pokemon’s information. Ash’s Pokemon have been transferred from Professor Oak’s lab to a nearby Pokemon Centre for Ash to pick up.
When the Trainer needs a Pokemon, she has only to throw the ball and call the Pokemon to action. When retrieving her Pokemon, a Trainer will simply point the Poke Ball at the Pokemon in question and press the button on the front of the ball. The Poke Ball itself can be miniaturised so that several can fit at one time in the palm of the Trainer’s hand, allowing for easier storage and transportation.
